The Digital Rabbit Hole by Larry Kilham
1.0
I personally found this to be an incredibly paranoid view of advancements in technology and how it challenges the youth of today. Yes- smartphones, computers, internet, etc are an enormous part of our society. No I don't think people are vapid for posting selfies, isolated because they text, or less intelligent because of their iPhone. Having these resources allows you so much more reading material- anytime I want to read about a particular subject I can find books to purchase online or use a search engine to do so. The internet also allows daily communication to my family who is hundreds of miles away, so no, I am not isolated- just communicating with other people. Also, if you feel good about yourself and want to take a picture of your face, go for it? Younger generations have grown up with this technology and they are going to interact/learn/read differently than generations before. It is very efficient, not something to be afraid of.
It truly just seems unreasonable to have this sort of view regarding technology. If you don't like it and don't want to use it- then don't. But it's not ruining the world and the people who inhabit it.
