Wanted to read something a little gritty to help stave off a book hangover after reading Deep End and it kind of worked. Wasnât great, wasnât terrible. I definitely would not say it could be read as a stand-alone, there were so many references to the previous books that werenât recapped at all. I read interconnected stand-alones out of order all the time with no issue, this one was a little trickier.
