All these years later and I'm still completely heartbroken over this series. Katniss finding love and light through the ruins with Peeta and her children. Haymitch surviving despite it all. Katniss still struggling with her fears and nightmares all the years after because the trauma from the games was significant and overwhelming; all the undeserving things she had to go through as a child, all the adults who used her. I love Katniss so much. I love this series so much. I wish we had more books following Katniss.

Teetering between 2.5 stars and 3. The writing style is very pretty; poetic pose and an interesting premise. Everything else fell short. This was nothing like Stranger Things, Stand By Me, It, or any of those other 80s / 80s inspired adventure, coming-of-age stories like everyone says it is.

A book on serious grief. Late-stage capitalism, police brutality, and a corrupt government system. But mostly grief.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 11%.
Exceptionally slow. Convinced the author googled "signs of autism." and gave Molly the first 4 traits she read about. I'm not into quirky writing styles, either.

Suffocating and claustrophobic. This book gave me mild anxiety. Like reading a Black Mirror episode.

I think Hein was replaced in the end with a new model, but that's just me <\spoiler>
