From the minute I picked up this book, it reminded me of my childhood camp days.  What a genius idea, a camp for adults… but okay, I’m getting a head of myself.  Let me back up. This story follows Jamie Davis, a lawyer who has had a pretty hard time in and with relationships.  He’s invited by a friend to go on vacation to an adult summer camp, Camp Starlight.

Enter Autumn Gardner, who was on the road to burnout herself and decided to help some friends out when they started their summer camp resort – you guessed it, Camp Starlight.  You’ll never guess who she runs into this particular summer… if you said Jamie, you’d be right.  Who is Jamie to Autumn?  Just her high school ex-boyfriend and first love, who broke her heart.  He looks too handsome, the two of them decide on a fling, but they can’t deny their chemistry.

He starts to fall first and instead of disconnecting, he’s spending time trying to reconnect with Autumn. If you’re interested in a spicy, quick and fun summer read, you’ll love this book.  The banter in this book is chef’s kiss and the spicy scenes are on point.

Thank you NetGalley, Victory Editing and the authors Ellie Belmont and Lacey Cole for this ARC! It was an amazing read, and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the Camp Starlight series will offer.

This will be available August 5th – pick it up 😊

Okay... I was following a book order, but to be honest, I really didn't need to read this book.  While it expanded on the details of the Boys POV, there really wasn't more that I learned from reading it.  I honestly could have finished Book 5 in the time that it took me to read this book :)

No offense, but unless you just want to learn more about why the Boys did what they did, it's really just rehashing previous content with a bit more information - that honestly could have been left out.

Please note that my review of this ARC was provided by the publisher (Atria Books) via Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

I can't decide if I loved or hated this book - I have such mixed feelings. It started really slow, then slowly progressed to being one of the most insane, intriguing and weird things I've read in a very long time. I LOVED the first 40-50% or so, it was intriguing and exciting, super suspenseful, it felt a lot darker than I thought it would go, and I couldn’t stop turning the pages.  At some points it was a 5-star read and then at other points it was a 2-star.

I don't even know where to begin when talking about it. So much happened, but at the same time nothing happened. I felt like the ending felt rushed and like a completely different book – which is odd seeing as though it was a 700+ pages.  The main conflict of the book was literally solved in the last 5-10% of the book and that felt too easy. However, to the author’s credit, every time I thought I knew something, she switched up and took it in a different direction.

This book could’ve been 200 pages shorter and I’m so sad because the beginning I was honestly thinking this book is 10/10 and I was obsessed… I had a great time reading it, but I do think this could’ve been shorter or at least split up into a duology or a series.

This book is due for release on August 19, 2025.

OMG!!!! This book defied my expectations - seriously! I did an immersive read of this and I tots believe that’s the way to go.

This book was about a girl, Lucy, who was accused of killing her best friend, Savvy, and unfortunately she has no memory of the murder as she suffered a head trauma that caused her to forget the night in question.

Enter a True Crime Podcaster, Ben, who decides to take up the case on a season of his podcast and tries to uncover what happened to Savvy, even if it means finding out Lucy is guilty.

You must check this out! It’s amazing. I think I’ve entered or unlocked 🔓 my murder mystery phase. This book was 🤌🏾💋
