🎧 This isn’t one of my favourites of Colleen Hoovers but it was ok. It is intriguing but extremely slow paced. I did find myself bored at times with the pace and just going through the motions and considered DNFing several times. There are some likeable and unlikeable characters. The last 1/4 it picked up the pace and I was engaged again but I might not have got that far. It was ok but not one I’ll remember.

🎧 This is an intriguing thriller that keeps you engaged. It was a fast paced listen to start off but slowed in the middle and felt like it dragged a little especially when things ramped up. It switches timelines from past to present and it’s worth noting it’s a grim listen that is graphic in its accounts. It’s a heartbreaking listen that will touch the toughest of hearts. I was really interested in Graces story and how it was unfolding but I will admit I had the outcome worked out from early on but that didn’t make it as less sad. I loved Garda Jerry and how the author portrayed how some cases never leave us. This is a thriller you will definitely want to put on your list.

Another great read from Willow Rose. This is the 2nd book in the Detective Bille Ann Wilde series. It’s a fast paced read that switches from past to present timelines and it’s hard to see how they connect which definitely builds the suspense. Love Billie Ann as a character and it was great to get more of an insight into her home life as well as her professional life. It was a well developed storyline with well developed characters. As much as I really enjoyed it how it all came together seemed to come out of nowhere and didn’t flow as well as other storylines by this author. I felt I had missed a couple of pages. But having said that I’m looking forward to the next in the series. If you’re looking for a new book series this is one you should add to your list.

Ryan definitely knows how to weave an interesting and engaging story. It flips from past to present which really built the story along with the characters and gave you just enough but always left you wanting more. It grips you from the beginning and keeps your head in spin as you don’t know which way is up. There is many a twist and turn to keep you on your toes. The characters were likeable enough but I did find Izzy a little irritating at times. I love when an outcome just comes out of nowhere but really works. This is a great thriller that will have you turning those pages faster then you can take in the information. Really enjoyed it.

🎧 This one is a quick, feel good, easy listen and a good one to take a break from the thrillers. Such a lovely setting that I could picture as I listened and would really like to visit. Love small town, community comes together type storylines and this one has all of that and gives you all the feels. Lovable characters especially Jeanie and Logan. Enjoyed this one and would recommend if Autumn 🍂 is your vibe and all that comes with it. The narration really brought the story alive.

🎧 Really enjoyed this one. It was a fast paced, easy listen that kept me engaged. Loved how the storyline flipped from past to present an it really built the backstory. Its storyline is told from mainly Alison’s point of view with the odd exception here and there. It’s a well developed storyline with well developed likeable and unlikeable characters. There was some aspects that raised some questions but it didn’t take from the overall experience. The narrator did a great job. Catherine Ryan Howard sure knows how to weave an intriguing story that keeps you guessing.

🎧 A short listen but no less impactful. It’s horrifying to see the hold the Catholic Church had on society and still to this day in certain instances. There isn’t a person that isn’t familiar with the Magdalene Laundries and the atrocities that took place behind there doors. To think people were aware but again that hold was too powerful and the fear of the wrath of the church too much - “the church have many fingers in many pies”. This is a heartbreaking listen but beautiful at the same time. I just wish there were more people like Bill.

Well that was an interesting storyline an to say I was hooked is an understatement. I couldn’t stop myself so much so I had both the audio and the ebook on the go. It’s a bit of a different storyline which is always good. It has a well developed plot and characters that you will have all the feelings about. It moves at a steady pace and keeps you guessing but has many a twist thrown in for good measure. Loved this one and raging it’s taken me so long to get to it on my TBR list.

🎧 DNF - I gave this one to 40% but unfortunately I just couldn't get into it. It felt slow paced with not much holding my attention. I wasn't endeared by any of the characters. I wasn't inclined to want to listen which isn't like me. So I decided to time to move on... You can't win them all and that's the beauty of books.

This is book 14 in the D.I Lottie Parker series. I didn’t realise it was a book series and have only read book 1 previously. I feel they can be read as a standalone as I didn’t feel I was missing out. It doesn’t focus hugely on the characters backstories but I’d still like to read the others as it seems like a good series to get stuck into. I was hooked from the beginning and couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. Lottie has really come into her own as a character when I compare her to the first book. There is really strong character development along with an intriguing storyline that really builds the suspense. Just when you think you’re in reach of what’s going on your left hanging but in a way that adds to your experience as the reader. I loved how it all came together and even more so the many the surprises along the way. Definitely recommend.
