Priests shouldn’t be hot (I repeat 5x over) but this one was!! The story was nitty gritty and depressing. I really felt the main character struggle. Taking care of her neurodivergent brother and her disabled best friend on a strippers salary is very realistic. Then Cade the hot murderous priest who became obsessed with the main character was the icing on the cake.

It’s a good book, I’m surprised I expected this book to be the typical hot gangster like romantic interest and he does questionable things, sometimes illegal stuff who the main girl falls in love with but, no. Julian, I understand why he is the way he is but realizes he’s the problem and he addresses that. I loved it. And Yasmin is a relatable character. She’s trying to get approval from her dying father but is willing to do anything to stay within his good graces, even if she winds up unhappy.

Interesting book and I like the way it ended.  I liked Jacks character and how he struggled with alcoholism and his temper, the mother Wendy, is a submissive woman who only thinks of her child. She strives to be completely different from her own mother who she detests. Danny is an interesting character trying to understand the world around him with his “shining” abilities. Lastly we need to protect Dick Hollorann. He’s the type of friend everyone needs. Just call and he will be there.

Throughout this book all I thought was “Stop it, get help” 😂 this book has a crazy ending but the build up to it was slow and sometimes pointless. The slow parts were the main character Bret doing drugs, falling into a drug induced sleep and fantasizing about various men he can’t have. But I do see how it plays into his mental state. The really pointless points were when the author when go into tangents about movies or music from the 80s. He would go into great detail about these things but I didn’t see the point.

Okay I’m going to admit the premise of the book had me. This girl has a crush on her best friend’s father?! That’s just scandalous. At first I was like omg how will she ever tell him! But once he figures out that she’s into him we find out he’s a disgusting piece of work. He’s controlling, crazy and a little mean to her. And I didn’t forget that part that he’s been checking her out since age 16? Like he knew she had a crush since then but he didn’t say he noticed her looks at 18 or later. He went on and on about her being “innocent” and I felt icky. I had to read some reviews since I wasn’t going to finish this book to hear the rest of the filth. It’s crazy what this man takes her through and she loves it. Dude.

The main character Ian is a sleezy guy who rejected his wife because she was an ugly girl, now that she’s grown up and beautiful he wants her alllll for himself. He even tried to force himself upon her while she was sleeping! Just gross. She hit him with a frying pan which was the icing on the cake! But that should’ve shown her that the man she was forced to marry is just as bad as the man she was running away from in the beginning of the book. I would finish this book if Ian wouldn’t have done the gross things he did OR he stays the same but the girl finds someone who loves her like the neighbor, he’s handsome and not a warrior but he really takes her opinions and thoughts into consideration.

Really sad. A book about gun violence. Makes you think about the choices you make.

Good book. Kim is a difficult character to read and is unsure of what he should and shouldn’t do. But man did he drag Will through it all. 😂

It’s an okay book. It felt short because there was only one setting, the castle. The main focus was the relationship developing between Jak and Marius. Sadly the characters were bland, and uninteresting.
