I'm not sure exactly where the original tale was featured in this retelling apart from the character names.
Everything felt to "easy" I guess. In the sense that Icca could walk into anywhere and get away with it, until suddenly there is a fight. 
I liked the gory elements, which were its saving grace, how gruesome and uncomfortable it was written with some body horror. But not enough plot. So much more should have happened
