The characters were certainly the best part. Their dynamics with each other, their goals and psyche. Everyone's arcs were handled in a perfect way; a thing that even big authors struggle with sometimes. The plot was good, the mystery and its uncovering reasonable and believable. I liked the romance between the characters. And the plot twist was perfectly done.

Certainly, the first few chapters of the book were the hardest to go through; where the most mistakes lied. From pacing issues to characterization problems - the first chapters tested my patience. Sometimes the characters exchanged their personalities; the plot went from too fast to too slow. I'm glad I held out though, since by the middle of the book these problems were smoothed over and we had a perfectly nice plot.

It reminded me of those 2000s movies - not bad per se but certainly nothing memorable and yet there was something that kept you coming back over and over agian. Cetainly, a book to read when you want to read a nice fantasy-crime fiction.
