Wow I did not expect to be so emotionally invested in this story but I absolutely loved it!  A world where robots are a major part of the day to day, we see this escalate when some robots ask to be freed. There is a faction of humans who are against this and respond violently leading to an all out war between humans and robots. We follow Pounce, a nanny bot who looks like a tiger, as he’s trying to get 8 year Ezra to safety. It is action packed but also has a lot of heart. I may have shed a tear at the end.  If you enjoy stories about AI, this is a must read!

I absolutely loved this book! Suraya is an outsider. She doesn’t really have any friends and gets bullied at school. She has also inherited a ghost type being called a pelesit from her grandmother who most often takes the form of a grasshopper. Suraya soon learns about the ghost’s powers and that he doesn’t always use them to do nice things. I loved the cultural aspects of this story also with the Malaysian setting and folklore. There was so much emotion throughout and the ending brought a tear to my eye. Such a special story.
