This is a wonderful picture of the childhood of Jerry Spinelli. Nostalgia is everywhere and you can easily see where he got many of his ideas for Maniac Magee. Lots of fun.

Great suspense. Luke is a third child in a highly controlled country that has deemed it illegal to have more than 2 children. She did a great job with the characters and made them very believable - though some of the events weren't always as believable.
