Maybe Slasher style horror descriptive isn't my style, but I had to DNF around 80 pages. There was so much description, yet lacking substance and it just wasn't holding my attention.
I absolutely adore this book. Watching Nesta go from completely and totally soul crushed to owning her wounds and the damage she had down shed so much light on what it means to be fractured. I really enjoyed the change of perspective from Feyre to Nesta/Cassian.
Plot holes? I felt like there was a lack of plot with Briallyn - was her only goal revenge? I feel like that was thrown in haphazardly. Same with Koschei, I don't understand fully the deal with him. It was as if those were thrown in for some type of plot conflict instead of this story solely focusing on characters and their growth.
Even with all that, the growth and development with the characters was enough to knock the wind out of me, kill me slowly, and leave me in misery for the second one. 5 stars.
It was a nice, happy existence after the war. To me, this read very differently than the other books, but it was nice to start getting perspectives from characters other than Feyre and occasionally Rhys. Echoing what others said, it was very much like a Christmas episode that happens, but it was nice to see how everyone is trying to heal and life is slowly starting to go on.
I read this book in four days, which is the fastest I've read a book of this size in a lonnnnng time. It was simply incredible. I loved it. It killed me. I need more. I am so happy I ordered this with the next book because holy crap.
This book was beautiful. It showed struggles, growth, and sheer will power to survive when all odds are stacked against you. This isn't typically my normal genre of reading, but I was absolutely enamored by it. It was so hard to put down and had me feeling emotions I hadn't expected to feel.
This book was absolutely wonderful. The supernatural twist with the mushrooms was something completely unexpected going into the book. I was expecting vampires based on context clues, but nope. Fungus. It was a very welcomed twist. I didn't love NoemÃ, but I feel she was written in a way that matched her class and time period. There were things that bothered me: such as her being sent to check in on things in a creepy home by herself that brought the rating down a bit, but overall, absolutely fantastic read.
