Really standout stream-of-consciousness writing, but at times it was dizzying. That's definitely an effect of the style, but luckily Leilani navigates the rushing stream well enough to make the message heard.

Ohhhh Pete.  I love you so much but this is the most annoying book ever!
This book is for fans of Fall Out Boy that are super willing to put up with Pete's bullshit.
This book is for intellectual emos who still tear up when they listen to I've Got a Dark Alley and a Bad Idea That Says You Should Shut Your Mouth (Summer Song) and if they don't tear up it's because they are on an SSRI and are physically incapable of crying.
This book is for people who are cursed to be forever complaining about "the scene."
This book is for ME AND ME ONLY!!!!

So despite all these things, Misogyny: The Novel is unfortunately really beautifully written and intensely haunting. SAD!

It is worth all the hype it receives and even more. I'm reviewing it months after I read it and the ending remains echoing in my head. SO AMAZING!

sexy, introspective, witty. rachel was  a perfect window into a type of disordered eating that is so incredibly pervasive and a type of longing that only queer women know. miriam was exquisite and made up for rachel’s shortcomings in a perfect, mirror reflection way.
the pacing was enjoyable, especially the end. i laughed out loud and cried a bit. a nice read.

Dark and devastating story of the things that happen every day in our country. Sadie was a beautiful character that you couldn’t help but root for. Unfortunately, the podcast aspect of this just kind of ruined it for me. I learned all of the information twice and it was just annoying.

Some of the most beautiful prose I’ve read in a while. This book left me absolutely breathless at moments. The constant analysis of cruelty and connection was by far some of the most poignant exploration of self I’ve ever encountered.
