It was a little hard to get into at first because it jumped around so much that it was hard to keep track of. Overall I think it was a very interesting read that I binge read. It kind of sucks how some of their stories ended. But it was interesting nonetheless!! I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a short thriller read.

Frieda is really good at writing thrillers. This was interesting to listen to. I thought it would be predictable but there was a plot twist at the end.

I’ve been unable to read a book because nothing interests me. But this book immediately drew me in and kept my attention until the very end. It’s not as “dark” as his other books but still good. I kind of predicted the fifth challenge when he said it was supposed to be devastating. It was the perfect end to such a cruel night. Never found myself rooting for Shawn.

I’m giving this a solid three stars because I don’t want to be mean just because this novella wasn’t for me. I originally found this from a post on TikTok by the author. I was drawn to it because I was hoping to see a submissive male demon. While there’s a little bit of that, it wasn’t what I was hoping for. It’s way more vanilla than I thought it would be. When the author said “femdom energy” I was expecting a bit more kink and groveling. Instead it was just her taking a the lead a little bit in the bedroom. All in all this novella bored me. There was spice but not a whole lot of plot. I guess I just feel unsatisfied. However, I do see this novella being the perfect recommendation for someone with different taste than me which is why I’m not rating it so low. Because the author did a good job, it just didn’t intrigue me. Other than that I’d say it would have been better with more hints & investigating of him being a demon. Once it was found out it was just a bit boring. I liked that Maeve wanted him in demon form as much as possible. And the little kitchen scene at the end was nice. I would say give this a read yourself if you’re interested. It’s a novella, what do you have to lose other than time?

I almost dnf’d this book because it started off way too fast. I know it’s fiction but there has to be some kind of slow burn somewhere! What do you mean he just meets this woman and is jacking off in his office because of her VOICE. You mean to tell me that a priest is willing to turn his back on everything he believes in because one woman enters his life? Three years of celibacy and priesthood down the drain because he just has to have a woman he doesn’t even know. Not only that, all they do is fuck and do sexual things and yet they’re falling in love? Please. I didn’t find that this book had a whole lot of substance or plot. And I wanted to see a darker side of the priest. There was all this talk about “releasing the beast” and he never really did. And the end infuriated me because he went through all of that pain just for poppy to disappear. I know it ended better than that but I’m still pissed off about it. I’d probably only recommend this book if someone wanted a smut read because that’s all it really is.

Reading this felt like reading a Wattpad story. And that’s not really a good thing. I mean this is a published book. A series even. Not that I plan on continuing this series. I barely finished this. For starters the “just turned 18” trope makes me extremely uncomfortable when there’s smut involved. Like immediately turned 18 and getting fucked by men who’ve been alive long enough to fuck her ancestors generations before her. I don’t know about everyone else but Winnie is still a CHILD. Just because it’s her birthday and she’s 18 now doesn’t erase the fact that she was just 17 - a minor. Yes she’s probably mature of her age and not afraid of sex, doesn’t make it any less creepy. Overall the story went very quick and didn’t have anything to offer than a 18 year old girl who likes to be called a whore. There was no character building, no world building, just a dive into something the author did a very poor job of explaining. Book one is suppose to reel you in and give you the backstory of things. This read like a one time wattpad story that even I could have written. I’m just not impressed and honestly very shocked that people are recommending this book.

I’d love to screw the dark lord. I love how possessive he gets. It was an okay read.

I really wish this was a whole book - a series even!! It was so hot. Like minimal smut, but him fighting his priest vows because of how tempted he is for her? Oh my gosh! I needed MORE. Like him finally giving in would have been SO much better. Plus, I wouldn't have to deal with the cringe of "omg I only met him a day ago but i am in love". I ignored it since it's a novella and things should move fast in a novella. I can only imagine how successful if this was a series with some serious BDSM. For us to see how dark he really is and how much of a slut for him she his.

This is probably the most bizarre, disturbing, and random novella I have ever read. There's really no plot, and there's random disturbing things added with no context or further warning. It's like the author's intrusive thoughts won this round.
