Entertaining book that introduced several interesting ideas through Ian Malcolm. Dinosaur behavior was pretty cool. Spielberg was very faithful to the book with his movie. Lex, the young girl character, was very annoying and singlehandedly brought my rating down with her utter lack of common sense and survival instinct.
I was surprised by how much I liked this and how much the ending affected me. The extent to which he delves into the relationships and history of the characters is what makes it so scary in the end. Very different from the movie.
Great fantasy! Con artist antihero, witty dialogue, emotional scenes, satisfying ending. What's not to like? Highly recommended.
Having read The Shining and The Stand, so far I think this is one of King's most disturbing books. It made me feel weird, but I really liked it.
The story of ants under the magnifying glass as told by the ants. Cool premise, and fast-paced despite being pretty packed with the usual King inner dialogue and backstory. Couldn't put it down. Brutal ending.
Didn't compare favorably to some of the King books I've read lately. None of the characters were very likable, so I didn't care what happened to them. There was one particularly disturbing scene near the end, but other than that...
