This took me forever to finish, not because I did t like it but because I couldn’t find the time these books I tend to read hours straight

I LOVED wests part in this book
he is very morally ambiguous, ge is more cynical now but I really wonder how the death of the prince guy will be handled in his mind, what if he tells Ardee!
I really wanted Ferro and Logan to work :( Logan was so funny to me in this one
especially when he was sort of pouting on the boat ride
What’s going on with Quai? I think he might be evil that would be really interesting, however I would like to see that mingle if he were to be merciful to Logan because Logan saved him
Sex scenes I usually hate, but the way it was written here made me audibly laugh at the intentional awkwardness I wish I had listened to this on audiobook

I LOVED this book holy crap, the writing style is great ( I am a sucker for lyrical writing)

I like how unreliable kvoth is, I can understand how it could be annoying, but to me it adds another layer of mystery on
I also love how it focus on real issues like the whole struggling with money thing was kind of comforting to me as someone who grew up dirt poor,
BUT kvoth is just a little bit of a Mary Sue I wish there was a little bit more consequences to his reckless actions
Again this writing style is amazing I would read this man writing about someone taking a dump and I know it would still be captivating.

I could have sworn I wrote a review for this book but it appears I did not but it’s probably for the better because it was probably just me gushing I love this book so much I hold it so close to my heart

A bit of an overrated book in my opinion, just to put this at the start I am a lesbian so my point of view on representation will be around my own experience

this was a very fast read and way out of my comfort zone and was a page turner
This was one of those books that I liked but kind of know wasn’t really that good
Some parts were written well, and other parts sucked
The stonewall part felt thrown in, like it was just kind of there as a nod rather than having any important impact on any of the characters other than a brief moment of reflection,
The use of labels felt really unnatural if that makes sense? I can’t speak on bisexual representation as I’m not
Sometimes the healing witch Celia felt rushed and should have been dwelled upon a bit more
I also disliked Monique as a character, all of the characters kept on praising her despite her not really showing any crazy promise she was a bit boring (her personality just reminding me of one of those annoying girl boss type things) she was also extremely unsympathetic twords Evelyn it seemed she ment none of her apologies and simply apologized to make herself feel better. Except for the part where she was mad about her dad, I even wish she was a little more mad or sad about it tho
I also wish Conner was more dwelled upon, like seeing evelyn struggling with combers death like Henry would have been interesting
The writing style also just felt really detached a more flowery writing style would have been perfect for the story to emphasize the tragic parts but I understand it wouldn’t have fit well with the framing but even then; on the topic of framing the kinglier chronicles has similar framing (kvote telling his story to be written, kvoth being a bardish person and evelyn being an actress, there was most definitely room for better writing)

Kind of boring some of the stories were really good (the monkey one the ugly lady one and the Beatles one) but others were just boring (the baseball poetry one and the last one) very fast read though good for passing time but not really a book that will make you think.
