A whopping start to the Women’s Prize for Non Fiction. An undeniably beautiful and heartbreaking memoir. It was a poem, a song, a tale I couldn’t put down. The sheer talent of Safiya Sinclair is incredible

Dragged a bit in the middle - he was stuck in a prison for what felt like aggggesss - maybe I’ll stick to his horror. I did like like the narrator and I enjoyed Kings cameo

Very poetic - sometime felt like too much so - but beautiful all the same, Tamsin Griegs reading of it was superb
