really great book. storytelling wise it’s so immersive and places you deeply into the story, from vastly different points of view and the thoughts of each character. i loved the world building the author presented, and the many bits of passages from excerpts that discussed the muad diab. Herbert definitely took inspiration from centuries of Islamic history and practices, and you can tell. I loved loved the final arc of this book, i’ve never felt an ending more thrilling and leaving me with wanting more. The only bits i may have fallen short on were just some slow bits leading up to the first act, or other parts in the middle. I did feel some bits were dragging. Overall however, i think i’ve never read a book to feel as a film epic as this did, and not just because of the first film, although that did aid visually. Anyway really great and i’m kind of locked in for Messiah now 4.2/5

lots of pain in this one

Jesse Armstrong is a once in a lifetime writer. Magnifying reading the script and how he brought those intense scenes to light. So many bits in this script that were cut that i enjoyed reading and seeing different perspectives on. And the many notes that brought the feelings of each character together…. With Open Eyes and Church and State was surreal to read, especially envisioning their performances from the series. Forever grateful for this series. In reality, they’re all children living in adult bodies that are haunted by their past. A story that will be remembered for ages
