There’s no way GRRM wasn’t inspired by Miles when making Tyrion. Miles is if Tyrion was raised by loving parents and went on adventures.

It’s good. But it’s corny (ik why). And I feel like the whole cancer thing was just used as a plot device, like I feel like this didn’t really go into living with cancer. There were some points which were enlightening (ig thats the word), but idk.

I don’t have cancer though, so who am I to speak on their behalf

I also didn’t like their relationship. Like it was kinda sad when Augustus died but he made me cringe. He was so ‘unhuman’. Like I can’t imagine a real person being like him.
Also van Houten in the end took me out of it. Him in the van was some cheap Disney type of humor to not make us too sad

Ruin’s dialogue is so corny lol

“How do you like that!” Ruin screams just after committing an atrocity. Like wtf lol, completely took me out that super dramatic and emotional scene.

A great intro to piracy in the Atlantic: what drove them to piracy, what they wanted to get out of it, why, etc.

Its super biased though, very pro-pirates. Like it paints them as this really utopic people.
