i can't believe it took me so long to sink my teeth into this one!! there's a couple of stories i'll come back to again and again -- rita hayworth and shawshank redemption was excellent, of course, but apt pupil really worked for me in a way i didn't expect, and by the end of it, i was SO tense i barely blinked for like 10 pages 😅

extremely convincing and compelling -- when the actual incident + resulting investigation was being described. i get there's not too much to actually talk about, so you've gotta pad out the book a little, but i really didn't care for most of the sections where the author bopped around siberia.
