Should I have read Strong Side first? Probably.
Did I feel like I missed anything? Not really.
Overall I really enjoyed Jax and Theo's story, but the pacing and time jumps weren't my favorite.
What to expect:
- volleyball player + athletic trainer
- sports romance
- age gap
- forbidden romance
- marriage of convenience
- cheating (not between MCs)
- pan + bi rep
- primal play
- light stalking

Cute little age gap romance between a grumpy racoon shifter and an exuberant squirrel shifter.
Love Me Like It's Real was super cute and funny, and a great second book to the Maplewood series. Unfortunately, I did find the story to be a bit repetitive, and hated that nothing really seemed to happen until almost halfway through the book. Nevertheless, I enjoyed Hayworth and Felix's story!
The Love in Maplewood is shaping up to be a great series, and I cannot wait for more!

Recently moved to Maplewood after the passing of his mother, Caspian plans to open a coffee shop in her honor. To kick things off his arrival in Vermont, Cas has a hot one night stand with a mysterious stranger on NYE. Only the stranger isn't so anonymous! Turns out his hot stranger is none other than his new neighbor Nate.
Cas and Nate's story is super sweet and cute and everything I expect Ana Ashley romances to be. Loved my first foray into the Maplewood universe, and cannot wait for more of this series!

Maybe because I’m a sucker for single dad romances, but I adored this? The Legend Next Door checked all the boxes for me and Ben and Jelly’s story was so sweet. Luca was absolutely adorable too!
What to expect:
- retired hockey player
- widowed single dad
- quirky neighbor
- adorable six year old
- neighbors
- friends to lovers
- bi awakening

To escape his abusive stepfather, Tate moves to Alabama after reaching out to his father. There he meets his stepbrother, Wren, who he is instantly attracted to.
At first the boys get on like oil and water, constantly bickering and antagonizing each other, but as they spend the rest of the summer getting to know one another, the attraction between them gets harder to deny.
Their relationship is not without some struggles though--there's the whole "taboo"-ness of them being stepbrothers and having to keep their romance a secret, Wren being closeted in a small southern town, and Tate's asshole stepfather popping up.
Overall, a fantastic debut!
- dual first person POVs
- stepbrothers
- instant attraction
- antagonistic friends to lovers
- opposites attract
- first times
- secret relationship
- hurt x comfort
CW: childhood abandonment, sexual abuse/manipulation/grooming of a minor, loss of a parent (off page), bullying, homophobic language + aggression, physical violence (not between MCs)

This is my THIRD time trying to read/listen to this damn book, and while the premise of this sounds like something I would enjoy, the execution is lackluster at best. I give up.
