I enjoyed this book much better than the last one. This story harkens back to the original books in the series with it's flashbacks. I have always wondered about the couples that Ruby didn't write about. Now I feel like the group is complete.
With the introduction of a whole cast of new characters and new village. I have to make the decision if I will read the spin off series. I don't think I will right now. I may do that in the future. We will see.

I don't agree with the cover on this book at all. However, I very much enjoyed the FMC who was a break from the "standard american" girl. Having her blue alien be shy was also a change.
This was a lot more engaging than the last several in this series. I could relate to the FMC more than the last few. She deals with almost crippling anxiety. I think this book is somewhat more realistic with having their relationship grow more slowly.
A really enjoyed this book, but having already read A Touch of Darkness. So, I already knew what was going to happen.
I was planning on reading the next book in the series, but the release date was changed to March of next year without me knowing.

This was book was the last in the series. It was a wild ride, and I very much enjoyed it. The final book was about Nora and Dagesh, and they had a novella. This is beginning of their story.
It is interesting, because Nora needs him to be a little extra rough. However, Dagesh doesn't know how to be anything other than soft and sweet to his mate.
Their story is how they work through this together.

Karina Halle is one of my new favorite authors! I wasn't sure where this book was going at first? I have read Blood Orange and it's sequel. So, I know where these characters end up, but I didn't know how they got there.
If you love Dark Academia, touch-her-and-you-die, fated lovers, vampires, tattoos, witches, and characters that spontaneously make you laugh, then this series is for you.

I'm happy and sad the HEA at the end of Black Sunshine wasn't actually a HEA. Lenore and Solon have many more problems to figure out before they can settle down.
I think their problems with the beast are indicative of real-life marital problems that pull people apart.
In the end, love prevails. As it always should!

I was suprised by how much I loved this book. I usually don't like friends to lovers. This book is the exception. Wolf and Amethyst's story is a beautiful one. Set on a backdrop of gothic mansions and oceanside villas. Despite the beauty, there is very raw grief and trauma in this book.
The ending for this book blew me out of the water. I had my issues with it in the middle, which I will explain later, but the ending was just too good. This was a Victorian Horror Movie and a Love Story mashed together in the most beautiful way. It has dark academia, dark romance, Victorian-era, Sleepy Hollow, and crazy-witch vibes. If you're a spooky person all year round like I am, YOU HAVE TO READ THIS BOOK.

Okay, I had issues within the three-some relationship. Don't get me wrong, I love a threesome. However, the amount of jealousy between these three really started to get on my nerves. It's mentioned often, and whenever I read the word "jealous," I just wanted to strike it out, and I think it would have made the overall book better. But I understand that in real life, that any threesome has it's jealously issues to overcome. By the end of the book, it seems that they have mostly laid these feelings to rest.
The ending with the references to Dorian Gray, Dracula, Heathcliff, and Frankenstein, I loved it, and it made the ending really memorable.

This book is nothing like I've read before. It's not even like any of the other books in the series. I loved it. It kept me engaged, just to learn more about this character. Neelo is unlike any character I've read about before.
I can't wait for Mulford to release the next in this series. This is definitely on the top of my list for favorite New Adult fantasy series.
