the narrator is incredibly unreliable and the best aspect of this book, story, and narration is that the main character begins to unravel as you continue to read on.

Honestly, this was such a great read! I didn't look much into the book before adding it to my list for the year; I just knew I wanted to explore more about the author and realized they had written this. My initial frustration was upon realizing that the protagonist was indeed a white character profiting off a tragedy. Furthermore, I kept reading because I found myself sucked into the story and wanting to see how it ended or if it was resolved. I think it's a great exploration of loneliness, sadism (in some parts), and minority/ majority conflict.
