Solid. Read it in one sitting at a library cafe. Good bit of suspense and intrigue along with impressive world building in the background. Going to read the second one for sure

Somehow I’ve never read any of the Tolkien books before and I have to admit that’s a big mistake. Brilliant book. The descriptions and language used drew me like few other stories can. Can easily see why it is such a classic worldwide

Good book/series will definitely read the next one. The map at the start is hard to understand/read and doesn’t help show where the characters are in the storyline which for me is an issue but I understand that may be “picky”. Storyline is brilliant can’t compliment that enough good mix of stuff happening and worldbuilding/character development at the same time. Gets a bit messy at the end however with maybe 4 chapters stuffed into two. Still brilliant ending but very much like someone saying it all in one breath and takes away from the story imo.

Brilliant! While it’s not technically finished I’m making it as finished because I’m now at the point I’m waiting for updates. But what a story, wow

Technically I didn’t finish it I’ll be honest. This book annoyed me, being blunt. Parts of the story are masterfully written and fleshed out ie. Corbans story/past. The whole bit with Nathair was just generic, it was plain to see what was happening but chapter three revolving around him. Honestly I ended up just wanting his parts to end and calling him stupid won’t lie.

Look it is a good book and very good series and I feel like I’m nitpicking with some of my critiques but. First off I said it in the first and second review as well, the Map. Is doesn’t work, it’s to dark not detailed enough and doesn’t actually convey how (big vast etc) the journeys taken in the book. Just leaves me kinda curious and travel (via foot) seems wildly faster then book one. The ending was super sweet and I loved that. Get a lot of bonus points for that. The story was good. As I said before it kinda all came to a head in two/three chapters and felt like a bit of an explosion of “stuff”. The pacing seems brilliant until the end but I thought the same about the second book. All in all a good series and please let me draw your maps in the future.
