Out of the three books, I will say I rate this one as my favorite, then Nero and then King. The way that DOM was should send red flags everywhere as he even wont let a male doctor in the room with her without a women present screams controlling but I loved every minute of it. He was so protective of her from the very beginning, even though how they started was a bit of a messed up situation. The only and I mean only issue that I had, was the FMC cried way to much in certain scenes, but she showed her strength in other ways. She was also very protective of DOM and incredably jealous as well. I love that S.J. Tilly writes like how most real women look, and also are older women and I believe the FMC Val in this book is the youngest at 25. The women in all her books are curvy and yet all the men would worship they ground they walk on. I would check your trigger warnings as there are certain things in each book that could be triggering for some. However I will be reading every single one of S.J Tillys books as they are amazing reads and extremly well written. This book has made one of my best books of year.

This book was great as a dark Mafia romance, their was a few things that happened that felt very rushed and it felt like they moved very quickly in their romance. I did like how the FMC took control with what she wanted even though she was uncomfortable. The MMC was very possiseve and a bit to controling for my taste and I enjoy those kind of things in my book, but he did tend to go over the top.

For example, he told the FMC that she was not allowed to go to a concert for no other reason other than he did not want her to go and be seen by other guys. They were not even dating and he pretended that he did not know her in public but still felt the need to control what she did.

The trauma that the FMC went through with her dad or step-dad made strange that she was really willing to just go along with what the MMC is doing and how he is a bit controling. I do love that she was plus size or more curvy, its nice to read about a FMC who is more in line with what most women look like.

I am looking forward to reading the next in the series as the author was really good at making you feel for the characters.

OMG

This book was amazing. It was really refreshing to find a FMC who was willing to take her own fate in her hands. She did everything she could to escape what he family wanted her to do. She fell in love with her MMC at the worst time but it was great seeing them together. This book is so good and a breath of fresh air. This author does so well with making you feel like you are experiencing their love with them.
