Very good -- I can see why it won the Newberry. Gaiman captures the feelings and struggles of Bod so well that even the child in my 40-year-old self stirred. I liked it better than Neverwhere.

Read this to my boys, 9 & 7, and they loved it! I appreciate the descriptions of a simpler life, and what constitutes good behavior. The boys enjoyed the descriptions of how they made things and the adventures with bears. A positive influence and fun at the same time.

Robbin's reading was more performance than I like for an audio book, especially the variance in volume. I missed half of Daisy's lines because they were so quiet.

I loved these as a teen (25 years ago), and I'm happy to say they're still just as good re-reading as an adult. The characters, especially Merlin, are so well-written.

Very enjoyable characters in this fun fantasy. It's actually the third book in the Chalion series, but it's a prequel in a different setting and I had no trouble reading it as a stand-alone novel. I plan to pick up more Bujold soon.

Fun to be back with Vicky Bliss. A good romp through Egypt and I loved the tie-in at the end.
