I first read this when I was 16. I thought it was alright then, simplistic and preachy, but fine. I thought of donating my copy last week, but I couldn't bring myself to part with it just yet. I wanted to at least give it another chance.

I am glad I reread it, I could appreciate it's critique on religion this time around, and I have a deeper understanding of it's philosophy, but ultimately, I am still in agreement with my 16 year old self. Preachy, simplistic. It's basically a Jesus parable. The writing is fine, the pictures are fine, but I think I'm mostly charmed by it's earnestness. I can't help but be fond of it.  Keep your expectations low, and do not expect this book to change your life.

I'll remember this book like a dream: Vivid unpredictable imagery and strong strange feelings.

Probably one of the grossest books I'll ever read in my life.
