I found it naive. It started out cute and warm but going deeper it felt forced, a bit like a children’s book when they tell you the moral in the end.

I love Stephen King but I’m not particularly a fan of his short stories or novellas. He has a slow burn style and you can’t slow burn a novella.. it just doesn’t work.
The order of the stories was also maybe not to my liking. King makes sure you’re uncomfortable while reading but mesmerizes you into staying till the very very end and even a little beyond. The last one in the book, “Rat” just left a horrible taste in my mouth and I couldn’t wait to finish it if only to not have to read it again, which of course reflected on the whole book.
I’d say I liked 2 out of the 4 stories, but didn’t love them. Maybe I’m a loyal “constant reader” as he calls us which is why I will read anything he writes despite how I feel about them. He still hits the spot 9 times out of 10.

I much preferred the books.. I was hoping to listen to the full series but it felt like disconnected bits and pieces.

Had a lot of fun reading it. There are a lot of great passages that I would just love to quote but by the end of the book, it gets you questioning everything. Highly recommended!

Fun to read as with all the other books in the series, a pattern is starting to emerge unfortunately making a few things expected
