If you liked Coraline or secret garden, this is the perfect book for you! This book was so fun with a hint of creepy. I absolutely loved it, and can’t wait to reread it.

With all the eh reviews I was hesitant to start the story, however, I thought it was worth my time and a good story! It had some areas I felt needed more description or more world building, because I found myself confused in some parts. But ultimately, I enjoyed the story and the twists at the end were so fun! This story reads as an author’s first book… there’s definitely room for growth but overall a good story with good characters. Just go in knowing it’s not perfect, but it is a fun trip.

I was hesitant to start this book because of the mixed reviews, but it was fantastic. I loved how Rebecca used lore and mixed it into this tale. There were some great twists, I didn’t expect. I felt the pacing was great, to me the story didn’t drag at all. The characters are well crafted and have good arcs. I didn’t expect a lot from this story, but it was well worth the read, and I’m excited to read the second book.

What an ending! I flew through book 1 and 2. Sad I have to wait for the 3rd book, especially with the cliff hanger!
I’m really enjoying the world that’s built, the magic system, and the characters! There’s so many I love and so many I love to hate!
