Loved the first book, but this was a disappointment in comparison.
I truly hated the ending
My own fault for not realising how dark of a romance it is, so if you LIKE DARK ROMANCE you may like this.
The MMC ends up being the FMC's rapist (it was under duress - he justification in the book) but just couldn't get over it

YES, IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT READING THIS, THE ANSWER IS YES.
The characters are compelling, the plot is wondrous and shocking. Ifueko immerses you in this mystical world, the lore is well written, without just dumping it randomly. The magic system is enchanting and so unique. You have romance, mystery and fantasy.
If you love YA fantasy this is for you
Tarisai has been manipulated by her mother her all life, which is a main motivator of the book.
She finds romance in another member of the council, Sanjeet, who had a troubled childhood too. Their romance is so sweet and so beautifully written, he calls her 'sunshine girl', common.
Also, asexual representation in Dayo, who is the most precious character, when he was stabbed I quite literally closed the book.

This Woven Kingdom is the of a lost Jinn queen forced to hide as a servant in the human world and how her life begins to change when she accidentally catches the prince's attention.
Where to begin, the characters are captivating, Alizeh ( FMC ) is a sweetheart but also is deadly, she knows what she has is to be valued and that added a certain depth to her character, overall I really enjoyed her chapters. Kamran (MMC) is delightful, the epitome of a mam written by a women, he is depth and hearing his emotions and how he describes his connection with Alizeh was beautiful.
Mafi's writing in this book is immaculate, certain descriptions had me enthralled and was overall just riveting.
I am already wanting the next book, and cannot wait to read on.

I fell in love with the characters and the world. Jude was by far the best character, and one of my favourite protagonists in fantasy. This was my first Faerie book, and this has opened me up to perhaps reading more with a similar magic system. I didn't expect many of the plot twists in the book, Jude becoming a spy for Dain and Oak being a Greenbriar descendant wasn't expected .
Cardan, I found to be a hilarious character and I am a huge fan of the enemies to lovers trope, and this was done amazingly, I feel that I liked seeing the enemy and begrudging partners side in the book knowing the lovers' side will hopefully be explored in the next 2 books, that I will definitely want to read.
Overall, if you want a great female MC, a compelling magic system (especially if you are a fan of Faerie/Fae fantasy), cunning characters, and an unbelievable plot, then I think Cruel Prince could be for you.
