The writing was different than I'm used to. Sometimes this bothered me, but for the most part it was nice to read something a little different. I wasn't able to guess what the big revelation at the end was going to be, but I wasn't very surprised to find out what it was. The rest of the story seemed fairly predictable. I'm glad I read this book because I usually read books that are from the female perspective and it's nice to read something from a male perspective sometimes.

I think it's interesting when people talk about the special connection that twins have with each other. What would it be like to have a connection like that? It can be hard to express this connection in a story without it sounding cheesy, but I thought that the author did a good job portraying it. Each of the twins had their own powers and were able to work together and be a strong force.

There were so many different mythological beings in this story that it made it a little difficult to keep them all straight. But it makes sense that if one of them is real, then they are all real, right?

There are several people Sera meets in the book who just seem comfortable to her...like she has met them before. I can understand what she's talking about because I have known people who were like that for me, and they always ended up being someone important in my life.

I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone who is interested in stories with vampires, elves, fairies, and people with special gifts. I'm excited for the next book.

When I first started reading this book, I admit that I was a little confused. The author jumps right into the story, which I like, but I had a hard time keeping the characters straight. Silas Ainsley didn’t know what was going on either, so I was able to kind of figure things out with him as the story went on. After a couple of chapters, I was able to figure out who was who and really focus on the story.

The people from Earth (well some of them, anyway) end up in Marenon after dying. Now this isn’t heaven or hell…it’s like an extra stop before going on. People in Marenon work and play and have wars, just like on Earth, but in Marenon there are other intelligent species that didn’t come from Earth. Some of these beings look a lot like humans, but some of them are very different.

Silas learns of a prophecy that says he will save them. Unfortunately, the prophecy doesn’t mention which them he will be helping.

I enjoyed this book. At the end, when the plot was getting pretty intense, I found myself stealing tidbits of time when I could to read a page or two and find out what would happen to all the characters I had started to get to know.

I look forward to the next book in the series to find out what becomes of Silas and all of his friends. If you like adventure and magic, I would recommend this book to you.

This idea of what life after death could be like is an interesting one, but it feels a little sad to me. Everyone has to say goodbye to their old friends and family and quickly move on to their assignment in the afterworld...without thinking about their loved ones anymore. That seems really sad to me, but maybe you have a feeling of peace because you realize that they will be ok.

Aside from that sad thought, I enjoyed this book. I could just imagine how annoyed I would be to have to guard and protect someone who I didn't like...especially if she is trying to hook up with the boy I like (or liked, I guess). If I was in that position, I'm sure I would be tempted to pull some pranks on her.

I found it interesting that if you got to close to a demon, or started doing things you shouldn't, then you could be pulled to the dark side and changed into a demon more easily. It's like with life...the more bad things you do, or the closer you are to temptation, the easier it is to do more bad things and be lost in sin.

I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to those who enjoy young adult fiction.
