“no one is just a victim or a victor. everyone is somewhere in between. people who go around casting themselves as one or the other are not only kidding themselves, but they’re also painfully unoriginal.”

[♥️] this is one of the most raw and complex stories i’ve read which has taken over my mind enough to finish it in less than 48 hrs. i am so floored on the ways one can be both good and bad, the ways we can love one another; the painful sacrifices one does for both themselves and others. all i can say is wow... the pain she had had to endure and the love she had. such an admirable thing yet to be cautious of ? thank u, taylor jenkins reid for crafting this lovely novel.

“people think that intimacy is about sex. but intimacy is about truth. when you realize you can tell someone your truth, when you can show yourself to them, when you stand in front of them bare and their response is 'you're safe with me'- that's intimacy.”

(first time read) CRIED MY EYES OUT COUNTLESS OF TIMES TODAY AND THROUGHOUT THE BOOK. UNPREDICTABLE, SHOCKING, UTTERLY FLAWLESS, AND BEAUTIFUL. IT KEPT ME UP PAST MIDNIGHT (don't read after 12, you'll still be up 'till morning).
june 20, 2019 (second time rereading) lol don't listen to this audiobook while driving at its last chapters unless you wanna have a wildt ride. i cried, i laughed, i gasped. i feel bad for the passengers who glanced at my window, haha! the audiobook made me love traffic because that is the only time i can read in my busy schedule of opening and closing work shifts. "the measure of love is to love without measure." <3

[♥️] atmospheric, thrilling, dark, and eccentric!
low 4 out of 5 stars. i was amazed by the journey detective bridie devine goes through while trying to solve the kidnapping secret daughter of sir berwick! definitely couldn’t keep this book out of my mind. simply adored ruby, the boxer ghost, and cora, the seven foot tall house-maid! ah, i wish we had more content on both of them! floored by the wicked characters and gore!!

i don’t think i’ve read a book with the amount of pov transitions like this... sometimes it dampers the shock factor and makes the rest predictable. also, the author sometimes gets carried away with the extensive vocabulary and descriptions which made it difficult to read. :( nevertheless, it’s cool how kidd blends humor and gothic mystery!

opal: took me a WHILE to read comfortably. maybe what i need to do is reread it so i can appreciate it more ? 3 stars.
origin: [♥️] packed w action and romance! prob one of the best of the series next to obsidian! more of a new adult book compared to the previous books. couldn’t stop thinking about it after i put it down. definitely pulled on my heartstrings and made me gasp on the twists that armentrout added. here i actually started to have favorite side characters (i’m talking about u, archer). 4.4 stars.

i got this at the alcatraz island gift shop! it wasn’t super well-written, very brief, but O.K. as a starter book to get more into the history of the island. obviously this is mainly aimed at young children so i guess it did what it intended to do :)

ANNNNND STEPHANIE PERKINS DOES IT AGAIN!!!! I DID NOT WANT THIS BOOK TO END! IT IS SO CUTE, ROMANTIC, QUIRKY, AND I LOVE IT SO MUCH!
This book is a pretty big inspiration to me in a lot of ways (kinda similar to Anna and The French Kiss, but more) ! I cannot express how much I love Lola and all the characters (...well except Max, ya know)! Love, love, love it! 5 stars!
