I absolutely loved this book. It was a fascinating exploration if different periods of time and I thought John was a great character

I thought it was a beautifully written and thoughtful book. It explored different conceptions of death and funerals all over England, Scotland and Ireland (I don’t think it covered Wales). I really enjoyed it and it was very moving.
