HEA: yes
POV: dual 1st person POV
spice: several open-door spicy scenes
TWs: anxiety, cheating (not MCs), death of a parent (cancer), divorce, miscarriage (not MCs), panic attacks, parental abandonment
Kinky Content: bratting, car sex, cum play, dirty talk, exhibitionism, fingering, grinding, hand jobs, “one more”, oral, praise, public sex, queening, slight role play, “teach me”, virgin, voyeurism
standalone: book 3 of Connecticut Comets Hockey series
final thoughts: Not me pulling a Dakota and actually learning about hockey as a sport from a romance novel…
NEW BOOK BOYFRIEND ALERT! Braxton was such a sweetheart, and I loved every minute of his story. This book took me on an emotional journey and had such a strong “found family” trope that had my heart melting and soaring.
The pacing was perfect, the story was well developed, the characters were incredible, and the spicy scenes were spicy. I can’t wait to go back and read everything else Siena Trap has ever written and then read everything she’ll ever write again.

HEA: yes
POV: dual 1st person POV
spice: several open-door spicy scenes
TWs: death of a sibling, depression, grief, pediatric ICU patients, pediatric kidney failure
Kinky Content: dirty talk, exhibitionism, fingering, hand necklaces, irrumation, marking, mutual masturbation, nipple play, oral, praise, queening
standalone: book 4 of Empire State Hockey series
final thoughts: this book was so good, and the side characters were great- I can’t wait to read the rest of the series to see their journeys!
The banter, the nicknames, the push and pull, and the found family had me loving every turn of the page. The MMC Cade is a broody, broken goalie who is only soft for the FMC Gwen who is a pediatric ICU nurse who isn’t afraid to speak her mind.
The pacing was great, the storyline was intriguing, and the MCs were likable. I’ll definitely be reading more by Lexi James

final thoughts: this was such a fun magical realism book with tons of character growth and self-discovery. I was on the edge of my seat rooting for the MCs in all timelines. I loved the pacing, storyline, and characters (side and main).

HEA: yes
POV: dual 1st person POV
spice: a few open-door spicy scenes
TWs: anxiety, bankruptcy, cheating, classism, divorce, homophobia, SA, sex work shaming
Kink CWs: anal, Choking, frotting, grinding, oral, praise, rimming, “sir”, switching
standalone: yes
final thoughts: I loved the fake dating storyline between Teddy and Cole as well as Cole’s complicated family dynamics a lot. There was a lot of tension, spice, and angst which made for a great story.
I did feel that there were a lot of subplots that detracted from the main storyline and would’ve benefitted from having less subplots or a longer story to really get into the details of the other stories. I felt like focusing on the other aspects took away from the main romance and character development. There were loose ends that never got tied and avenues that were left unexplored for the MMCs. HOWEVER I really enjoyed what we did get! The side characters, specifically Kit and Mallory!, were so fun and added great depth to both MMCs.

standalone: interconnected standalones
final thoughts: I love Lisa Suzanne’s pacing and writing style and I love that this is a standalone so there’s no cliffhanger 🙌🏻
This was such a cute story full of pining, hidden secrets, stolen moments, spicy scenes, and banter. We get to see Lincoln and the rest of the Nash brothers and are introduced to some new characters that make this a fast and interesting read. I loved the female friendships, the found family vibes, and (most importantly) a man who grovels 👏🏻
I can’t wait for the rest of this series!!

HEA: yes
POV: single 1st person POV
spice: several open-door spicy scenes
TWs: abandonment, anxiety, body disfigurement (scarring), cheating, child abuse, drug addiction, emotional abuse, house fire, manipulation, miscarriage (D&C), parental neglect, stillbirth

final thoughts: OMG what an emotional rollercoaster. A high-risk emotional read with lots of high reward for romance. Tate was so close to perfect, and the first half of their love story was almost flawless- I laughed, I swooned, I was kicking my feet. The second half was filled with so much angst, anxiety, pining, loss, and heartbreak and I sweat I went through all those emotions with Laurel.
Please be warned that the triggers are main plot points of the story and come up often so be aware of them, but if you can read anyway, this spicy read will be worth the tears!

final thoughts: this book put me through the emotions ! It was almost perfect for me, and I enjoyed so much of this book. The FMC was relatable and realistic- she struggled with self esteem throughout the book while the MMC worked to build that confidence up.
The MMC was so swoony and near perfect and his cousin was amazing, I can’t wait to see if she gets her own book. I was giggling and kicking my feet loving this story up until this one specific scene that completely ruined my beautiful cinnamon-roll, golden retriever, FMC-obsessed view of the MMC and it was so hard for me to fall back in love with him after it 🙃🥴😬. I needed to text a book friend for emotional support and after sleeping on it overnight I’m still mad at him LOL

final thoughts: What. A. Ride. After running from their past and present, they give into their mutual attraction Von and Alec fight hard for their HEA, but it’s well deserved. I never knew where the story was going to go- were they going to heal separately, together, or not at all? - and was left feeling every emotion as I was reading.
This book was such a rollercoaster and hot everything I love in a hurt/comfort contemporary novel. There is a 3rd act breakup which had a grand gesture and groveling- YAY! I feel like there is never enough groveling in novels, but this book did the characters and the situation justice

final thoughts: when two coworkers who share a spicy past try to forget about it because of her brother (his best friend), their podcast becomes full of banter innuendo, and everyone seeing that they’re perfect for each other.
I loved seeing how their relationship went from “just coworkers” and “just friends” to Monroe being completely gone for Juliet. He was sweet, caring, gentle, thoughtful, and supportive.
Lauren Blakely never misses and this is no exception.
