I literally have no words for this book… I was on the edge of my seat the whole time I was immersed in this wonderful world. I don’t think I have ever read half a book in two days since I was an adult, but I am so glad I did. This story and world is so rich and beautiful, I found myself wondering how I could be an ARC reader for the upcoming sequel. I am so glad this is not a stand alone. I am simply not able to leave these beloved characters and their adventure behind.

Roberts definitely is a good writer. This was more or less entertaining to listen to, but the sex scenes are not what I am looking for. The kinks and concepts are decent, but I wasn’t very into them when they were executed. The voice acting kinda killed the sex scenes further. The voices are fine otherwise, but definitely not my thing for a sexy scene. The story was actually pretty decent. I found myself sitting through the sex scenes just so I can continue with the actual story. I’m not sure if I will continue with the sequel, but I definitely am considering it.

A wonderful, humorous read about what happens after death. Well worth the read, even so long after being published. Descriptions in this book about various decomp stages as well as how bodies are handled and looked are quite graphic, which wasn’t a problem for me, but should be taken into consideration.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 49%.
Loved the two main characters, but couldn’t stand how they were swept to the side for basically the whole story. Harrow is basically nonexistent for much of the story and Gideon is a camera just meant to observe lesser (and less interesting) characters. It just seemed like the author didn’t know what to do with these characters after the first few chapters. I really wanted to like this book. I might revisit it sometime.
