Just a stellar read. In many ways I liked it even better than The Stand, which I must admit it resembles. Full rich plotting, deep characterization, a truly epic climax and just enough wind down at the end to make a completely unrealistic fantasy feel like a frightening but heartwarming documentary. Bravo! Found a new author to devour!
Now that I've finished Inferno, it upsets me even more that so many people have such rotten things to say about Dan Brown's formulaic writing. This was a tautly plotted thriller with far more reality laced through it than most thriller writers bother with (specifically in the areas of art, history, literature, and genetics) and about a hundred unexpected twists and turns that kept me guessing write through the climax. On top of all that, it's based on a theme of real import - the danger of human overpopulation, and the morals and ethics of genetic tampering - unlike so many other thrillers that are based essentially on how nasty can people be?
I, for one, really enjoyed reading this book, just as I enjoyed Dan Brown's other Robert Langdon books. In the grand scheme of things, I believe people that have negative comments for Brown's books are viewing them through a lens of envy and pride based on the incredible wealth their author has accumulated, not based on the actual quality of the writing itself.
On behalf of my fellow readers, Mr. Brown, I'm sorry about that. Can't wait for the next Langdon story!

Fantastic, exciting read with plenty of highly plausible science supporting the racing plot. I highly recommend this for anyone who loves a good "creature feature" now and then.
Fantastic story that did a wonderful job of melding the Victorian literature tropes with truly original modern thriller motifs to create a unique and thoroughly enjoyable read!
Fascinating man. This book does a nice job of boiling down a long and complex life into a fun highlights reel I could enjoy in an hour.
The concept was awesome, but (JMHO) the sex was too big a part of the story. I didn't get that impression from reading the summary, but this is soft erotica with a SF/Urban Fantasy backdrop. If you like that sort of thing, you'll probably love this book.
Sorry, I just couldn't get into this classic enough to invest the time it would take to read the whole thing. Call me shallow, but I just didn't get what the fuss was about.
