What a great, happy, fun rom com! Forver I avoided rom-coms, and now Im wondering why? This book made me snicker, smile, side eye, and sigh. All the feels for Paige and Gannon!
Im just so glad its over! It really was an absolutely awful series and Im still not sure why I finished it because Ive DNF'ED better books for less. Anyway, it ended exactly as I predicted and I hated it so much.

Dark romance/paranormal/fantasy with an Academic setting? Sure! Ive decided Sadie Kincaid has a dark imagination and Im so glad for it🤣 The spice is SPICEY and the plot/magic system is not bad considering its dark romance. Definitely interested in continuing the series.

Another great historical fiction novel illustrates the inequities of women and race in America. 1920s south Carolina. We have 3 women:
1. Gertrude is a white mother of 4 girls with an abusive alcoholic husband
2. Ms. Annie Coals is a stately lady with her own business of sewing seed bags for sale - married to a powerful man with 5 children
3. Retta- the black house servant to Ms Annie who aside from being negro lives a nice life with her husband Odell
The story is all told from each of these womens perspectives. We learn about the power of strength and friendship, doing the right thing in face of adversity and good ole Karma.

The way this author writes truly is unique. She dives into heavy subject matter and really builds her characters brick by brick. My only complaint is that the end (not the epilouge) felt somewhat rushed compared to the pacing of the rest of the book. The epilouge was simply beautiful and made me sob!
It started and ended strong, the middle felt very forced and like the author was trying to hard to be spicy and edgy. The character development and chemistry did finally get there at the end but I would have liked to have had a bit more of the main characters together longer if that makes sense.
It was just not good. All the attempts at making the atmosphere broody and dark and rich was too much and fell flat for me. I was really annoyed with the MFC, the internal dialog was dumb and not believable in any way. The smut was also not for me. I like a good degrading kink for sure but I was bored after the 3rd "violent" blow job...predictable and not exciting to me. I just found myself not interested at all in any of these people let alone reading an entire series about these rich asshats.

I have a new favorite romance writer and somehow I am lucky to be an ARC reader for her. Siena Trap puts pure magic in her romance and Im addicted. This story is so filthy and yet wholesome at the same time! If you are a fan of wholesome small town country love stories with awesome main character energy and chemistry, loveable and hilarious side characters and passionate smut you cannot go wrong with this story.

Wow💔🥰 I knew mid way through the prolog that this was going to a gut-wrenching story, and while I wasn't wrong, it was that and so much more. It was a beautiful tale of love, loss, and finding joy amongnst the pain, survival, and preservence. Motherhood, womanhood, and the beauty of finding unlikely but perfect female friendships. I literally have no notes. To me, this was perfection.

This book grabbed me because of how beautiful the cover and edges are, and I consumed it in 24 hours because the story is beautifully tragic. The author did an amazing job at illustrating the toxicity of human nature and our need for consumption even when it's not in our best interest. The euphemism to Amazon and corporate greed, the destruction of nature, and the way humanslosee their humanity in the face of survival. How they adapt to the toxicity simply to survive. Then, we see the beauty of kindness, forgiveness, empath, and overall touch, love, and human connection. I love that it wasn't a HEA but also not a predictable sad ending either. It's really a beautiful and well written story🤍
