They're too cool to ever ever do anything like go to prom or listen to music other than jazz while reading poetry. They're always got some story going on that they're heroes of. The rest of us just have to live here, hovering around the edges, left out of it all, for the most part.

NOT EVERYONE HAS TO BE THE CHOSEN ONE!!!

this is about what happened to those who aren't out there, saving the world or something. this is about those who just want to live peacefully and enjoy their life. From Mikey's POV, the kid who has a clipping anxiety & OCD who feels least wanted all the time, this book could be kinda boring too (honestly).

i like how Patrick Ness knows exactly what he's up to. he plays with words so fricking gracefully that got like WHATTTT IS THISSSS??¿¿ kind of reactions. not really a plot-wise book, nothing really kept me at the edge of my seating whatsoever so why i love this book so much?

here's the reasons:

- EVERYTHING (other than the boring part)

please please PLEASE go read this book if you have a copy of it dusted on your shelf okay just give it a try!

3.5 stars bc of the last 3/4 of the book. it's not badly written it's just the plot lines failed to attract me. i love the peculiar photographs the most (obviously, duh) and i highly admire Riggs' imagination. i wish i would like the sequel more

and yes, i can't wait for the movie!
