There isn't much to say about this book. While interesting enough, I found myself bored at several points in the story, having already known what would happen. It's basically a book version of the Broadway musical "Hamilton"; in fact, a majority of the quotes are lifted directly from the play. Unlike Ron Chernow's biography which has so much more extra information than the play does, this felt like a teens book, and almost like fiction/drama, with nothing new to bring to the table.
I'm generally a huge lover of Sci-Fi but I found this intuitively dull and hard to get into. There were pockets within the book where I was very interested, particularly when Harry got lost from his uncle and all the prehistoric beasts turned up. Towards the end, it finally became a page turner for me, but the fact that it took me almost a year to get through this book shows how interested I was in it.
I had no idea The Jungle Book was so much more than just a story about Mowgli, Baloo and Bagheera. An epic collection of short stories, I thoroughly enjoyed all of them. I especially delighted in the illustrations done by MinaLima; their depictions of India are stunning and so creative.
