The Oceans and the Stars: A Sea Story, a War Story, a Love Story by Mark Helprin

Didn’t finish. I adore this author and Soldier of the Great War and Paris in the Present Tense are in my Top 100 of all time, but I just couldn’t get into this one. I don’t give a rats ass about the US Navy at this current political time so I need to move on to something else.

I started reading this Nov 3, 2024 and tried to read to distract myself from the angst of election night and the devastation that followed and couldn’t pick it up and keep reading without being overwhelmed with all the same dread. I love this author so I’ll revisit it someday maybe.
