Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

I finally completed the set of Jane Austen novels by reading this book! It's not my favorite Austen novel, but it easily reminded me why I love her. She's great, as always, at describing passion without physical descriptors and getting at love through wit and sarcasm instead of emotional treatises. Jane, I love you always.

The Five Books of Moses: A Translation with Commentary by Robert Alter

Can’t believe I finished this, but I did! I’ve been reading through the Bible this year with a group, and I chose Robert Alter’s translation for the Torah. It changed my whole notion of the poetry behind these books. Truly grateful for such a literary experience.
