Thanls to NetGalley for the advanced copy of this graphic novel.
This was such an amazing read.
Despite being an ally, this provided me with a more in depth idea of gender fluidity, and the different aspects and issues that arise within the individuals journey with gender and acceptance 0f themselves.
I am so grateful for the chance to read this great graphic novel and become better aware of what I can do to consistently improve my language around gender identity, and to create a safer space for the amazing people embracing their truth.
I recommend this book even if you are not a fan of graphic novels, because the illustrations created a connection to the people. I particularly love that Rhea added their own experiences through this journey of discussing gender and the resulting thoughts.
This was very cleverly created, respectful to the interviewed people, and very informative.

Thanks to Netgalley for a copy of this Audio!
I really enjoyed this insight into single motherhood from Sarah Thompson.
I'm a single mum and it's great to know there are others out there feeling the same way.
Focusing on the upsides of being a single parent is important, and this particular story reminded me to appreciate the good that has come from being a single mother.
I highly recommend this.

Gender Pioneers: A Celebration of Transgender, Non-Binary and Intersex Icons by Philippa Punchard

I really enjoyed reading this book.
It provides amazing insight on impressive people throughout history who embraced who they truly were, despite the laws and beliefs thrown at them by society at the time.
Some stories were heart wrenching, but I believe it is important to be aware of the social misjustice that occurred (and sadly can still occur), despite the extensive historical evidence that intersex, transgender and non binary people have always existed.
I loved the layout, which was quite similar to other important books (such as the books on amazing women in history) and I would certainly add this to the bookshelf.
The only point I could make regarding the layout is the fact that it may have been easier to follow if each person was listed chronologically as opposed to alphabetically.
However, this is a fantastic and necessary read.

.... this was so weird.
Since starting I've discovered that it's not recommended to be your first venture into Murakami, and I can understand why.
This book was just insane.
And yet, I could not put it down.
There was a lot of repetition, and a lot of description that probably wasn't necessary, but it was beautifully written.
From about 300 pages in, I was hooked.
