The first half is annoying but grippy (no, we cannot explain anything for Reasons), and the closer it gets to the end the more tedious it becomes. Nevertheless, interesting.

In many ways of its time, and obviously written by an neurotypical person, but I do like it. Great audiobook.

Charming, but not gripping. I'm struggling with reading at the moment, otherwise I would probably like it more.

Absolutely brilliant audiobook a lot like the podcast. The Mammy found it a bit sweary, but she loved it enough to put up with it.

The cliffhanger nature of the often short chapters left it feeling choppy at times, and there were questions I feel could have informed things. In some ways I would have liked the grand revelation to come at the midpoint and give more time to it's resolution, but I did enjoy it a lot. I'd read her next book.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 7%.
I find it too dated. Maybe an audiobook.

I feel mixed. I should have.liked this, but I struggled to get.into it (maybe me?) and I realised I don't actually want to read about COVID. And I'm not sure how patient I feel about work that's so autobiographical.

It is a good story, but I found the audiobook quite distressing and it really illustrated the way disability is used in an ugly way that's of its time.

I was expecting a Romantic Comedy done in a Literary/Upmarket style. What I got was a tedious book with an unearned Romance and in which things just happened despite any choices the MC made. Romance novels are incredibly tightly plotted with a very firm structure, but this read like it was written by somebody who thinks they are about two people falling in love. Because of the gushing broadsheet reviews, and because I really loved Prep, I stuck with it, expecting some kind of twist or payoff. I was disappointed.

Emma is a pick-me, but this is very readable.
