What? I mean … WHAT? I hear so much about this series but it was SO different from everything I expected. Definitely the best book I read in years.
Is it perfectly written? No. Is it now still one of favorite books? Yes.

To be honest it wasn’t as good as the first one. It was dragging a lot in the middle … and the constant use of the word „Mate“ makes me so irrationally angry. But… its still a perfect 2nd part and I will continue devouring the series.

Again - perfect story. It was the best one yet (If I ignore how angry the word „Mate“ makes me). I was crying for 2hrs straight in the end. But its so well written, the characters are so sympathetic and … I just love this series so much!

Overall, I liked this volume a little better than the first volume. With each volume I notice more and more how much I would like to go to school at Hogwarts and how much fun I have reading the story. It's just a part of my childhood & even though I'm reading the series for the first time, it's a bit like coming home.
But I still have a few things to criticize: the chapters are too long for me, the narrative perspective makes it difficult for me to read & what really bothers me is that there is simply no discussion of emotions. J.K. Rowling uses almost exclusively the outside perspective & really only focuses on the plot. I think that's a shame because it means I can't get to know the characters more closely.
Nevertheless, I love the story and am looking forward to the third volume!!

Why the heck did I not read Harry Potter before now...its flipping magical (literally).  But better late than never, no?  I grew up with the films and was therefore never interested in reading Harry Potter.  I was afraid of getting bored since most of the story is familiar from films.  Now I finally dared to read the story and loved it very much.
However, I have to say that I'm not the biggest fan of the writing style. Of course the story is beautiful, but many scenes were too little embellished and dealt with too quickly for me, as was the development of some friendships and relationships.
Nevertheless, I love the story very much and will start with the second volume as soon as possible

I got into the last book thinking C.S. Pacat would go easy on us … but I was mistaken. She brings it all.
The unfolding of the final part was interesting and captivating and I nearly read it through in one night. It gave us a satisfying finale to the triology.
The reason why I only give it 4 stars is that the ending was a bit too abruptly . Maybe an epilogue of some kind might have given a little help with closure.

After reading the first book in 2 days I immediately started reading the 2nd one. It was even better and finally some romance happened!
It is very well plotted and the twists and turns of the political games are very engaging!
Eventhough it started to drag in the middle it doesn‘t change the fact how excellent and enjoyable it was.

I got this book on the recommendation that it was a very popular LGBT novel.
The characters are complex and well drawn and its very well written. I was barely able to put it down.
While the first half is mostly about sex and violence the second half is way more plot driven.
But the reason I can only give 4 stars is because the story didn‘t really feel complete and only truly takes flight in the second book.

I honestly didn‘t wanna read this book because it sounded like every other fantasy book.
But after my boyfriend begged me for month i started it … what can i say: I was proven otherwise.
It has an incredible and somewhat realistic magic system, impressing world building and lots of mystery. I just love it so much i instantly bought the other 2 parts.

After finishing the first book I almost immediately started reading the second one.
This is definitely not one of the sequels that leaves you disappointed.
I was never sure what‘ll happen next - it really was a rollercoaster. Outstanding plot, strong characters (I just love Sazed!) and so captivating to read!
