A Holly Jolly Ever After by Sierra Simone, Julie Murphy
2.5
Honestly I had to set this book down several times. Not because it was poorly written or a bad story but just because of the struggles that Winnie was dealing with, and how they hit so close to home for me.
Legitimately I understood her perspective all to well as someone who grew up in a Christian house that pushed purity culture, and as someone who is AFAB being told that your worth is tied directly to that purity. Granted my experience was not as extreme as Winnie's, but to hear her mentally struggle with something that I have dealt with in the past was a lot harder that I expected it to be. I do think that this is a good book it just unfortunately hits to close to home for me personally because of that and all the other Christian elements in this story.
