the dead boyfriend was horrible. i tried to give in to it and let the story make me curious, but it never happened. the ending of
it all just being a book and her being FAMOUS off of this horrible book
actually killed me. i would give that a 0.25 rating and the only reason for it not being a zero is because i hate girls named any variation of caitlyn/kailyn.

as for give me a k-i-l-l, that portion of this 2-in-1 had me on the end of my seat!! i try to read a little of a book everyday due to me being a college student, but i kept wanting to come back to read this story. the suspense with everything involved was great. however, when it comes to reading r.l stine, his endings are horrible.
to make the story because gretchen is imagining this out of trauma and try to trick the reader to go against gretchen was sort of weak sauce and so was the dead best friend coming back. he needs to retire that ending since it is every story of his now like come up with something new and not these cheap jumpscare attempts.
for that, i feel like this deserved a 3.5!

party games had a better plot that actually made sense, but was fairly predictable. don't stay up late had a very messy story and resolution which made it feel rushed. both stories had a very corny ending.

this book had so many moments when i wanted to scream out loud "NO!!!" or would audibly gasp out loud. i love when that happens.
