i really wonder what it would be like to read this without knowing the twist. i think that would be great

this edition is 70% essays, many of which were interesting but overall was quite dense. also the footnotes really started pissing me off because they would just define words i knew and then not define words i didn't know, and in general seemed really arbitrary? like why define 'harpy' and not 'minotaur'

these are starting to blur a bit because it’s one long story after all
but there were some HIGH DRAMA moments in this that were absolutely hilarious to me. also some epic happenings. moraine slayed in the end
nynaeve was kind of fucking me off but it was character development or something

pippi in the south seas is the best but i’m not sure if that’s because it’s the one from my childhood or if it is just good for letting pippi shine rather than being annoying in regular society

the big plot reveal at the end kind of made like… the efforts of our 3 central characters useless in the end? but the moral of the story was cool i guess
kind of weird how anna was completely sidelined after the first book and also kind of weird the whole 16 year old mother thing
jude and sheila also gives me the ick

interesting premise with some cool and unique ideas, perhaps some aspects a little bit dated now
not the most amazing character work and bit simplistic overall ig but there were definitely some cool moments, and i think its target audience would not notice anything - this is a product of target audience being teens and me not being quite in that headspace reading this
but i was pleasantly surprised and entertained!

i enjoy inhabiting the fantasy world robert jordan has built but there’s certain things about the way he writes his characters that i don’t love and it’s getting a bit repetitive
