It was a great read. Even though it's a romance book, it in as not easy at all. It comes with some trigger warnings, and it's also annoying here and there, but it was a great read.
I realized that I should have read the other two books before in order to see and enjoy the Easter eggs, but they didn't arrive yet. Anyway, it's a great opportunity to read it again afterwards.
I don't know if this is a hot take, but this author seems better than Emily Henry.

I wish I liked this book more than I did.
The premise is great and could have been a groundbreaking story, but I couldn't connect with the characters and often couldn't wait for the chapters to end.
There are certainly some deeply emotional moments, along with valuable insights into British slavery in the Caribbean, particularly for those unfamiliar with the topic.
Not a waste of time, but could have been better.

A very unexpected read. It is annoying in so many ways, but that's only because I realized that this world was built around men since the beginning of time.
I was even more surprised to find out that, even though this is a fictional story, Lady Tan actually existed. Powerful women have existed for ages, and some of them found a way not only to survive in a man's world, where men's pleasure was even above women's lives but to become known over centuries.
It's also additional proof that it's always been extremely important, as a woman, to be surrounded by women who take care of each other. The circle of good has always been the safe shelter in a patriarchal world.

I didn't know too much about Afghanistan before reading this book, but now I managed to put the things together, many of them happening when I was little, and I am even more aware of how many waves of pain and suffering went over those poor people.
A very touching story which feels almost real.

I have some mixed feelings regarding this book.
On the one hand, there is an incredible and inspiring story of a strong man who made it through child abuse, domestic violence, and racism.
On the other hand, I find this book a bit dangerous for people who are not as strong as he is. It is risky to run hundreds of miles without any preparation or make any kind of extreme effort without doing your homework beforehand. You can literally die.
Also, I find the "personal development" component and the grind set a bit unnecessary and kind of bul*sh*ty. Somehow, those challenges slowed me down way too much. I said that I needed to do them to properly get through the book, but I didn't have the time or proper context. So, it took me days to find some alone time and do the first few until I dropped it. I only resonate with the journaling parts, but maybe it's just me.
But it's a very inspiring story, and if you pass it through your own filters, you can learn some things about the human body and mind.

It's my 3rd attempt to read this book. I'm still trying to get ready for the real Henry Miller's books that I bought (before reading anything, of course), but it's tough.
This book felt like a series of Facebook statuses, with very few interesting takes.
I don't know if it's the language, but it feels that this book does not have a start or an ending, and it's pure chaos, jumping from one subject to another.
Even the title is not necessarily appropriate, since it's more about finding truth and meaning in the world that we live in.
