The Wise Man's Fear by Patrick Rothfuss

Utterly fantastic. It's a lengthy read, but it never gets boring. The adventures are entertaining and the mysteries are incredibly engaging. Love how this one ended. Looking forward to the next entry.
The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms by N.K. Jemisin
4.0
Absolutely phenomenal novel. Well crafted storytelling that pull you in and makes you care deeply about all of the characters involved, including the ones that are intended to be 'evil'. I would consider it sort of a "Game of Thrones"-lite. A healthy bit the wonderful backstabbing and political intrigue, with more magic and wonder, and fewer beloved characters being murdered every other page. Truly excellent story. Really looking forward to Jemisin's next book.
Bitter Seeds by Ian Tregillis
4.0
This was an utterly compelling read from beginning to end. Tregillis has a knack for creating strange characters, but making them believable and interesting. The story itself and the concept surrounding it were beautifully orchestrated. Absolutely wonderful - really looking forward to the other books in this series.
The City & the City by China MiƩville
4.0
To me, this novel seems a bit like the story was draped rather flimsily over a really interesting concept. While this is often a downside to most novels, China's writing is so absolutely riveting, it doesn't even matter. It's fast-paced, elegantly detailed, and thoroughly entertaining. It's a wonderful, captivating tale that sticks with you for days after you've finished it.
