Absolutely phenomenal story. The fact that it's a novella doesn't mean it's rushed or watered down. Its limited length keeps it focused, and I couldn't put it down after I started. The story was expertly told, and every character earned their emotional growth. I can't wait to read more.

Absolutely excellent and engaging storytelling! A believablably flawed but determined heroine combined with an incredibly imaginative setting with rich historical depth made for an adventure that I'm eager to continue with the next book.

Within the first few chapters, I was worried that this book was going to turn out to be a horror novel. While there are definitely some elements of horror, it ended up being just a stellar scifi story full of intense space action, endearing hope, and the challenges of understanding what it means to truly be a part of humanity. Absolutely loved it.

Absolutely masterful storytelling. Myke Cole has a gift for weaving heartbreaking loss in amongst thrilling battles, incredible tension, and phenomenal and believable character growth. The protagonists are supremely imperfect and genuinely flawed, and that's what makes them so incredibly engaging.
