Similar to Findings by Kathleen Jamie, I don't think I am a huge fan of the first person, present tense memoir style.

I also didn't like the very formal style of writing used. It felt like the author was trying hard to make what she was writing about more dramatic or serious.

Just another book about a "quirky", self loathing, different girl in an odd relationship, out of her normal class group, where nothing really happens. And we're kinda supposed sympathise/empathise with her? Similar to why I didn't like Conversations With Friends.
